Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

At Glass Dermatology, we offer a variety of dermal fillers to help you acheive your goals. We currently offer hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from 2 different brands: Juvederm and Restylane. At your appointment, we will decide together the best type of filler for you based on your budget, facial structure, and desires.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occuring substance found in your body that has an ability to hold onto water. It's found in your skin, joints, and connective tissues. This allows it to act as a hydrating, cushioning agent. As you age, your body's production of HA decreases which causes your skin to develop signs of aging such as lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. HA fillers are designed to replenish this loss to provide subtle, natural results to smooth away signs of aging. Once the filler is placed, the aging process continues and your body slowly breaks down and absorbs the product. If desired, follow-up treaments can be pursued to maintain results.

The Juvederm family of dermal filler products was designed to give patients a quick, non-invasive way to restore their skin and temporarily erase signs of aging. These hyaluronic acid-based fillers are FDA-approved and use cross-linking technology to offer some of the longest-lasting results achievable today. The filler’s gel formula creates a soft, malleable texture that is virtually indiscernible from the rest of your skin. What to expect after your filler injection?
After your injection, it is normal to expect some swelling and bruising over the next couple of days, which can be different for everyone. This should subside over the following week and the filler should "settle" into place after a few weeks. Physical activity should be avoided the first 48 hours as this can exacerbate bruising and swelling. No facial procedures (facials, massages, etc) should be done the first 2 weeks after filler is placed.
We always offer a patients a 2-4 week optional follow-up to evaluate your cosmetic outcome, address any concerns, and see if any additional treatment is needed.
